Under the hood

How a signal gets made.

Every step is deterministic, documented, and visible to members. The same inputs produce the same output every time — and when a setup is rejected, the gate that rejected it is written down.

  1. 01

    Universe scan

A 650-stock pool — every S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 stock plus other liquid names — is screened nightly for liquidity, trend strength and earnings hygiene. The bot's active trading universe is a tighter curated subset (~80) drawn from that screen.

  2. 02

    Regime detection

Each symbol is routed to an equity strategy — trend-following or mean-reversion — by its own ADX, a measure of trend strength. A name in the middle band goes to trend-following, which applies its own trend-strength check before anything fires.

  3. 03

    Layered gates

A dozen-plus filters — sector strength, correlation drag, gap risk, market volatility, earnings proximity, move fatigue and more — are applied before any signal fires. Each gate writes its decision to an audit log.

  4. 04

    Conviction scoring

Surviving candidates are ranked by a composite score, so the strongest setups surface first instead of arriving in whatever order the scan happened to produce.

  5. 05

    The daily send

The highest-conviction setups go out as the 8 AM digest. The rest stay visible in the app with the exact gate that blocked each one, and the trigger that would release it.

  6. 06

    Paper portfolio

Selected setups stage as orders against a real paper account and fill at the next morning's open — so you see fills, holds, exits and P&L, not just a list of ideas.

We publish the categories of gate and the indicators behind them, not the thresholds or the scoring formula. Members see every gate decision for every symbol; what stays private is the tuning, not the reasoning.

The entry checklist · STAMP

Five questions, asked the same way every day.

Directional call and put setups are judged on five independent dimensions. A setup has to answer all five — a strong trend with no fresh trigger is a watch, not an entry.

Members get this checklist rendered per symbol, with the live reading next to each line and the one that's blocking highlighted.

S
Structure
Is the trend actually stacked — the fast average above the slow one, price on the right side of its 200-day?
T
Trigger
Did the crossover happen today? A setup that fired three weeks ago is history, not a signal.
A
Amplitude
Has the name moved enough over six months to be worth the risk?
M
Momentum
Is RSI in the band that says 'moving, not exhausted'?
P
Persistence
Is ADX high enough that the trend has been holding, rather than chopping?
What it trades

Two sleeves, one signal pipeline.

Equities — swing positions

For each name that clears the gates, the bot stages a swing-style equity position: a market-on-open order the next session, sized by rule, with a stop, a trailing stop and a maximum holding period attached from the moment it fills. Exits are evaluated before signals are — a stop doesn't wait for the strategy to agree.

Options — directional calls and puts

The same signals are also expressed as directional calls and puts: a contract near a target delta, 30–45 days out, managed by rule — profit target, stop loss, an underlying gap and volatility stop, and a force-close as expiry approaches. TradeBotAlpha has not validated any options strategy. Its tests of long calls/puts and debit spreads did not pass its go-live criteria. The call and put setups in the 8 AM digest are scan output, published with that status.

Options are high-risk and can expire worthless — these are research signals, not recommendations to trade.

Options setups from the nightly scan

The dashboard's options card lists the directional call and put setups the bot's rules found on the latest scan, with the rule that fired and why. Updated nightly. TradeBotAlpha has not validated any options strategy. Its tests of long calls/puts and debit spreads did not pass its go-live criteria.

Set expectations

What this is, and isn't.

This is

  • A daily, ranked shortlist of stock and options setups
  • A rules-based companion you can audit decision by decision
  • A real paper portfolio you can follow position by position
  • Built in public — roadmap, audits and limitations visible

This is not

  • Financial advice — the signals are research, not instructions
  • A managed account — we never touch your money. The bot trades the operator's own capital, not yours. The operator puts their own money behind the same signals you've been watching, starting the first trading day of January 2027.
  • Personalized to your portfolio, risk, or tax situation
  • Day-trading or scalping — daily cadence, not minute-by-minute
